It rarely snows in Seattle,
but every spring the cherry blossoms
fall like fresh powder on the ground.
And even though they cover the ground,
the tree remains adorned.
Quite simply, there’s more new life
than the tree knew what to do with.
So she spread her abundance across the floor
for us to dance upon.
Sometimes beauty and joy
are too difficult to accept
or “too good to be true”
—as they say.
So, I don’t dance.
But I do grin a little
and wonder, “Wouldn’t it be nice…”
Rather than receiving
the reality of resurrection.
